A delicious roasted oolong from northern Thailand that has already won over many tea lovers. For a long time, the fact that Chiang Rai province produces exceptional tea was an insider’s secret known only to true connoisseurs. They truly excel, especially with their oolongs. One of the most beloved oolongs from that region is the Ruan Zhi, better known as “Soft Stem” or cultivar No. 17. The cultivar was developed by the TRES (Tea Research and Extension Station) in Taiwan. Taiwan employs one of the most scientifically advanced methods for growing tea and perfecting cultivars, so neighboring countries are only too happy to draw on their impressive expertise.

The Ruan Zhi also shines in the cup. Its flavor profile is exceptionally complex, with a toasty and creamy initial aroma and undertones of honey, apricot, and mango. This truly unique combination of flavors makes the Ruby Ruan Zhi a favorite among tea sommeliers.
