Description

The undertones of this decaf black tea have the typical Assam characteristics, think spicy, malty nuances, expressive and strong. It’s a blend of various black tea leaves from the region, responsible for its unique flavor. This tea is a ‘broken tea’, containing finely chopped leaves, processed using the CTC technique.

This tea has much less caffeine due to the decaffeination process applied.

How the decaffeination process works

We use the latest technique to remove the caffeine from the tea. We employ the CO2 high-pressure method. It’s a process that occurs in different stages. The caffeine is selectively removed through a detailed process with very specific conditions (the pressure, the temperature, etc.) to ensure a refined outcome of the best quality. A small portion of the tea is lost in this process, but we keep it as minimal as possible. The color and flavor of the tea leaves are preserved thanks to the CO2. Carbon dioxide is a natural product, part of the air, and 100% safe. It protects the leaves against oxidation and maintains the taste and scent.
