Description

Description

This mini Pu-Erh tea has been made using the “Shu” or “cooked” production method. This is a modern production method with a shortened fermentation process of approximately 3 months.

After fermentation, this Pu-Erh tea is compressed into small bird’s nest shapes. The tea is sourced from small farmers with a long history of Pu-Erh production.

Origin: Yunnan Province, China

Tasting notes: earthy, chestnut, walnut

Pu-Erh shapes

There are many forms in which Pu-Erh can be compressed. Some well-known forms include the classic ‘bing’ shape or the ‘tuo’ bird’s nest shape. The shape allows the producer to showcase their creativity. For example, Pu-Erh can also be found in the shape of a tea leaf, an authentic Chinese coin, or small balls. Sometimes, illustrations of buildings or famous personalities are even embossed on large Pu-Erh tablets, although these are often used more as currency or for decoration.

The advantage of our small mini Pu-Erh is that they are very convenient for portioning.

Preparation

According to the traditional Chinese tea ceremony, Pu-Erh is first “rinsed” and then steeped for 1 to 2 minutes. We recommend using 2 to 3 nests per liter of water. Or 1 nest if you are brewing tea in a Yixing teapot using the Gong Fu Cha method.
